Age of Japan is a match-3 game in which you must swap game tiles to get a combination of three or more of the same kind and color in a straight line (horizontally or vertically). When you make a combination above a golden cell, it breaks and changes into a silver cell. Then, you need to match the silver cells to make the elements in them disappear from the board.
The game includes two modes: Arcade and Puzzle. In Arcade mode, you must clear all filled cells before the time runs out. By contrast, in Puzzle mode, you must clear all the filled cells, but in a limited number of moves.
In both modes you can choose the difficulty level (easy, medium, and hard) and the type of elements (only two options). There are also lots of power-ups and bonuses that help you win the levels faster and more easily. As you progress you will encounter additional elements like broom, lock, which require a special treatment.
The game features simple but very colorful and attractive graphics. All levels feature a nice cartoonish landscape with a Japanese theme and the music is enchanting. Sound effects are also very suitable. In short, Age of Japan is a lovely match-3 game which certainly doesn't include anything new, but it is enjoyable nonetheless. |
